So wtf kinja? I was working on a post here and there, saving it to drafts between sessions. I thought it was pretty good, and might even interest a few of you even more than shitty parking jobs and poorly stanced imports. I even had some original pictures I was rather proud of.

I’m sure you see where this is going. Apparently “publish” means “maybe publish, or maybe just obliterate from the kinjaverse entirely”. Never showed up, gone from drafts. Yes, yes I should have saved it in word or something, but the drafts system seemed to work just fine until I tried to publish.

I have had this EXACT thing happen... only to eventually find it later, somehow. I poked around in the labyrinth of “manage blogs” “posts” “my profile” and the like, and it appeared in the left side menu for me. Then I shared it again and like magic, it reappeared. Good luck.

Men who wear lab coats even while at lunch. Serious, so serious, is this business.

I noticed that when I published something that had been in draft for a while, it posted under the date when the original draft was started. If you can find the post, it can be edited to post at the current time instead.

Doing my Aviation History posts has taught me a bit about future posts. I’ve never quite been able to figure out how drafts work, so, when I’m working on something for the future, I always give it a publish date. That gives me a deadline, and also makes it easy to find for future editing. Pick a date, schedule it, then hit “Schedule.” To find your future posts, click on your avatar, select your personal blog, then select “Manage coelacanthist”. You’ll find your future, yet-to-be-published stuff there. And if you’re ready to publish it before your future date, you can edit the post time to a point in the next few minutes.

Good luck. We’re all counting on you.

Thoughtful and well said as usual.
